Ethical & Professional

All practitioners at Maple are Chartered members of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The BPS is the only governing body for psychologists and in order to obtain chartered status psychologists must have completed a first degree together with further training in an applied field of psychology.

Psychologists at Maple have completed a three-year Doctorate professional training in Psychotherapeutic & Counselling Psychology.

Chartered Psychologists must abide by strict code of ethical and professional guidelines that include issues relating to therapeutic boundaries, maintaining knowledge and confidentiality.

With respect to the latter, from the first call to the practice onward, any information a client gives is treated with the utmost confidentiality.

At the start of the first consultation, issues of confidentiality are discussed, agreed, and specific questions are answered.
